On a sunny weekend morning, the Helping Handfelt Craft team gathered for one of the most awaited events of the year—our Annual Picnic, held in the lush greens of Bhaktapur Valley. This year, the occasion was extra special as it coincided with International Women’s Day, making it a heartfelt celebration of the women who are the strength and soul of our organization.
Over 150 employees, along with their families, came together not just for a picnic—but to honor the journey of empowerment, community, and collective growth. The day kicked off with joyful group games, singing, and dancing, where everyone from young children to grandmothers participated with unmatched enthusiasm.
The air buzzed with laughter, traditional music, and the aroma of home-cooked meals lovingly shared among everyone. Classic picnic games like sack races, tug-of-war, and musical chairs brought out the child in all of us and strengthened the bonds that keep our team so closely knit.
One of the most touching moments of the day was a heartfelt speech by one of our founding members. She reflected on how Helping Handfelt Craft started in 2011 with just five local women and a simple vision—to uplift and empower women in their own communities. Today, with more than 150 women strong, that vision has blossomed into a thriving reality.
This picnic wasn’t just a celebration—it was a tribute to every woman in our organization who has worked tirelessly to create beauty, support each other, and uplift their families. As the sun dipped behind the hills, there was a shared sense of pride, purpose, and joy.
This Women’s Day, we didn’t just celebrate women—we celebrated our women, our Helping Handfelt family, and the powerful story we’re writing together.
